Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alvaro Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Lepinakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alvaro Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luke Lepinakov! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot by Perez. Lepinakov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Perez. Lepinakov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lepinakov showed some decent athleticism there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Perez wants to sweep but no luck. Lepinakov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lepinakov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Perez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Perez controlling the action here. Lepinakov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Perez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lepinakov keeps working. Perez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lepinakov on the ground. Lepinakov looking for submissions off his back. Lepinakov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Perez content to control rather than advance. Lepinakov tries to get to full guard but Perez has control of the leg. Lepinakov controlling the position well. Lepinakov is looking for a sweep. Perez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lepinakov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Lepinakov tries to roll over but Perez keeps him under control. Well, if Perez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Perez is keen to just control but Lepinakov is a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Perez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lepinakov momentarily.
Perez scores with a jab. Lepinakov acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Lepinakov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Perez tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lepinakov is able to avoid easily. Perez lands a jab to Lepinakov's midsection. Lepinakov looks gassed! Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Perez!
Perez works Lepinakov's body with a nice hook. Perez connects with a jab. Perez with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perez throws a combination. Lepinakov tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Perez lands the left hand. Perez drops Lepinakov with a big left hand! Lepinakov is injured, injured bad! Perez jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alvaro Perez!
