PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sluggo Brott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Levi Weber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Weber's choice of entrance music: 99 Problems by Jay Z. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brott fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Weber manages to avoid it.
Weber jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Brott misses the shot to the body.
Brott defending well as Weber loads up on a big left hand.
Brott shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Weber but Weber pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Weber lands a really nice looking cross but Brott seems unphased.
Weber stuffs the takedown.
Brott throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brott throws a hook but Weber avoids it easily.
A punch combination from Weber misses.
Weber misses with a hook. Brott ducked under it nicely.

Brott throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Weber stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Brott lands with a straight right. Weber didn't see that one coming.
Weber throws a lazy right hand but Brott sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A slow jab from Weber misses its intended target.
The fighters circling - Weber throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Weber looks to score with a jab to the body but Brott is just out of range.
Brott moves out of range as Weber strikes.
Weber throws a right and a left that Brott avoids nicely.

Brott shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Brott thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Weber's head.
Brott wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weber keeps working.
Brott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Weber pushes Brott off looking to stand but Brott dives back in and keeps control.

Brott is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Brott counters with a nice double leg into side control. Weber won't be happy with that.

Brott creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Weber sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Weber is trying to buck Brott off.
Brott throws an elbow but Weber slips to the side and avoids it well.
Weber wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Brott misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Weber is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brott is controlling him well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Brott is putting a hurting on Weber here, landing some big shots from side control.
Weber parries the strikes from Brott easily there. Brott is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Weber to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brott cracks Weber with a big elbow.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Weber dodges the ground and pound from Brott.
Weber is trying to buck Brott off.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Weber can do anything to dispel that myth.
The strikes coming from Brott are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

A close round but Levi Weber will probably get the nod.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Weber is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Brott thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Brott cracks Weber with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Brott jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Weber is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Weber and Brott has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Brott goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Weber rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Brott's guard! Nice work there by Weber!

Brott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Weber wants to get back to his feet.

Sluggo Brott dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brott looks to land a strike but Weber avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Weber is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brott is controlling him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Weber throws a hook but Brott blocks it.
Brott scores with a hook.
Brott moves out of range of the strikes.
Brott moves out of range as Weber strikes.
Weber misses with an uppercut.
Brott scores with a jab to the body.
Weber might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Brott shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Brott was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Weber takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Brott throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Weber because Brott loaded up on that one.
Sluggo Brott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brott unloads with some shots from mount but Weber bucks and avoids them well.

Weber's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The referee warns Weber that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
