The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabreros tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Da Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Cabreros.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Da Silva is defended easily by Cabreros.
Da Silva connects with a crisp jab.
Bruno Da Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Da Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Da Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cabreros to the mat! Cabreros manages to get full guard.

Da Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cabreros is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Da Silva, into his guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Da Silva steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cabreros.
Da Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Cabreros, looking for a takedown. Da Silva pushes Cabreros against the cage but Cabreros circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Da Silva shoots for a takedown but Cabreros saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Da Silva throws a hook to the side of Cabreros's head but Cabreros sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jab, jab by Cabreros - just one landing.
Cabreros bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Da Silva's head.

Cabreros uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Da Silva.
Cabreros misses with a looping left.
Cabreros scores with a hook to the body. Da Silva takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Da Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cabreros but Cabreros pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cabreros takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


It looks like Bruno Da Silva has been cut.
Cabreros catches Da Silva with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Cabreros moves out of range as Da Silva strikes.
Cabreros slips under a jab.
Da Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cabreros tries to avoid it but Da Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cabreros to the ground. Cabreros escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Cabreros's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Da Silva walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Cabreros slaps away a takedown attempt from Da Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Cabreros keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Da Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cabreros as he jumps to the side.

Cabreros throws a lazy right hand but Da Silva sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Da Silva uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cabreros.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Da Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Cabreros sprawls well. He's pushed Da Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Da Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cabreros moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Da Silva needs to keep his hands up - Cabreros had a free shot at his head there.

Da Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Da Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cabreros manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Da Silva has Cabreros in his guard.

Da Silva has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cabreros is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Da Silva.

The fighters are battling for position here. Da Silva manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Da Silva manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Da Silva is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Cabreros has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Cabreros!

Da Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cabreros is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Da Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cabreros's back instead.

Da Silva has got his arm under Cabreros's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Cabreros has spun round into Da Silva's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Cabreros got a little sloppy there for a moment and Da Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cabreros has managed to get both his arms back between Da Silva's legs - danger averted.
Da Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
