Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Slogsfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quniton Blackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Will Slogsfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quniton Blackson!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slogsfield scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Blackson is looking for a sweep. Slogsfield is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Blackson is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blackson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Blackson.
Slogsfield loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Blackson wants to stand but Slogsfield is controlling the position.
Slogsfield wants to pass the guard but Blackson is keeping the position.

Slogsfield has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Slogsfield shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blackson as he jumps to the side.

Slogsfield closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Blackson did well to prevent Slogsfield getting side control.
Slogsfield is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Slogsfield wants to stand but Blackson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Slogsfield is pressing down on Blackson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Blackson is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blackson is looking to get back to is feet but Slogsfield passes into side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Blackson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Slogsfield stands up and beckons Blackson to his feet.
Quniton Blackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Blackson goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Slogsfield moves into the clinch.
Blackson tries a knee to the head but Slogsfield blocks it.
Blackson looks gassed!
Blackson is trying to maintain a safe position but Slogsfield gets an underhook and turns Blackson into the cage.
Blackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Blackson misses with a knee strike.
Slogsfield tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Slogsfield stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Blackson is trying to break the clinch but Slogsfield is controlling him.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Blackson tries to improve position but can't.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Blackson wants to control but Slogsfield postures up.
Slogsfield wants to control but Blackson is keeping him busy.
Slogsfield remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Blackson closes the distance and clinches up with Slogsfield, looking for a takedown. Blackson pushes Slogsfield against the cage but Slogsfield circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Slogsfield sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Blackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Slogsfield swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Slogsfield jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Blackson walks away with a smile on his face. Slogsfield gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Blackson keeps control of Slogsfield as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Slogsfield looking for a takedown.
Blackson is looking to break free of the clinch but Slogsfield has double underhooks.
Slogsfield tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Slogsfield's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Slogsfield looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Blackson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Blackson wants to clinch up but Slogsfield keeps it at a distance.

and Slogsfield decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blackson's guard.

and Slogsfield makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Slogsfield shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Slogsfield was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Blackson tries to hold on but Slogsfield pushes him away.
Slogsfield lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Slogsfield moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Blackson has worked his arm free - good work by Blackson!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Slogsfield stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Will Slogsfield dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Slogsfield shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Blackson but Blackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Slogsfield circles away from the clinch attempt.
Slogsfield tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blackson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Slogsfield doesn't manage to clinch there - Blackson circles away.
Slogsfield slaps away a takedown attempt from Blackson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Slogsfield counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Blackson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Slogsfield throws a big right hand that misses.
Slogsfield trying to control but Blackson is working from the bottom.
Slogsfield might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Slogsfield wanted to stand there but Blackson had control of the position.

Blackson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Slogsfield passes into side control.
Blackson wants to control but Slogsfield postures up.

Slogsfield decides to stand back up. Slogsfield steps back and let's Blackson get back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Blackson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Slogsfield looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Blackson is fending him off so far but Slogsfield persists. Nope, Blackson circles away and we're back to standing.
Blackson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slogsfield.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Will Slogsfield. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Blackson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Slogsfield avoids it really well and circles away.

and Blackson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Slogsfield is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Slogsfield closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Slogsfield lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Slogsfield not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Quniton Blackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Slogsfield stops Blackson from standing up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Slogsfield keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Blackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Will Slogsfield is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Slogsfield, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
