Rice looks to land a combination but Emelianenko avoids it well.
Emelianenko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rice.
Emelianenko connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rice. Rice circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Emelianenko smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Rice takes one to the chin there.

Rice throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Emelianenko to counter with a crisp jab.
Rice doesn't manage to clinch there - Emelianenko circles away.

Gumbo Rice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Emelianenko jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Emelianenko connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Rice tumbling to the canvas! Emelianenko pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Rice was done - good stoppage!
