Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Erkki Nahka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Charlie Linx! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nahka shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Nahka slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Linx avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Nahka working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Nahka trying to control but Linx is working from the bottom. Linx is controlling Nahka's posture. Linx pulls Nahka in close to his closed guard and prevents Nahka from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nahka closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Nahka is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Linx wants to get back to his feet. Linx really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nahka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Linx is looking to improve his position.
Nahka is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Linx keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Linx avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nahka. Nahka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nahka thows a huge punch but Linx dodges it nicely.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Linx thows a left - swing and a miss! Nahka shoots in looking for a takedown. Linx tries to sprawl out of it but Nahka keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Linx manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Linx waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Nahka.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nahka shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Linx has hold of Nahka's hands but Nahka slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Nahka thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Linx blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nahka. Nahka throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Linx blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nahka. Nahka looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Linx has one foot on Nahka's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Linx throws a jab when Nahka was well out of range. Nahka shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Linx napping and manages to drive through into side control! Linx is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Nahka misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Erkki Nahka dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Linx cracks a nice hook into Nahka's ribs. Linx throws a looping overhand right but Nahka ducks down to avoid it. Charlie Linx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Linx throws a series of punches but Nahka avoids them all with ease. Linx will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Linx throws a right hand that Nahka ducks under and follows up with a left that Nahka also avoids with ease. Nahka closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nahka lands in his opponent's guard. Linx is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Nahka postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nahka throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Linx has momentary wrist control but Nahka slips an elbow through the middle. Nahka prevents Linx from getting back to his feet. Nahka trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Nahka drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nahka jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Nahka is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Linx throws a hook but Nahka blocks it. Linx connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Nice sprawl there from Linx as Nahka shoots in. Linx fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nahka fails with the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Linx drops Nahka with a straight right hand, right on the button! Linx follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charlie Linx!
