Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dante Mcleod!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Grant!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, David Schapiro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcleod connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Jeff Grant has been cut.
Mcleod throws a head kick but Grant moves out of range.
Mcleod cracks the inside of Grant's front leg.
Grant looks for a takedown but Mcleod sprawls well.
Grant shoots for a takedown but Mcleod saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mcleod throws a hook but Grant avoids it easily.
Grant shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mcleod avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Grant.
Grant stops Mcleod from getting back to his feet.
Mcleod trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Mcleod is staying active underneath Grant, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Grant slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Grant is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mcleod defends it well.
Mcleod looks like he's trying to stand up.
Grant throwing shots but Mcleod is blocking nicely.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Grant takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
A jab from Mcleod does it's job there.
Mcleod lands a left and a right that send Grant crashing to the mat, dazed. Mcleod thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Grant is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Grant switches off momentarily and Mcleod cracks him with a monster right hand! Grant topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Mcleod dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Mcleod!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dante Mcleod!
