Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Dante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Dante acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Briggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Dante! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briggs shoots in and drives through. Dante sprawls well. Briggs checks a low kick from Dante. Dante avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice defenses there by Briggs. Briggs thows a body shot but no joy. Briggs throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dante stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Briggs is looking to clinch. Dante clobbers Briggs with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Briggs is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Briggs is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dante sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Dante jabs at Briggs's body. Briggs has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Briggs there as he acknowledges the shot. Briggs fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Briggs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Briggs takes one to the side of the head.
Briggs misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Briggs tries to clinch but Dante moves out of range. Dante cracks the inside of Briggs's front leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Briggs slips under a jab. Good shot there by Dante. Briggs takes one on the button. Dante misses with a low kick.
Briggs shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dante as he jumps to the side. Briggs is breathing heavily. Dante shoots in and bounces Briggs off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Dante is stalling in the full guard. Briggs had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dante defends it easily. Dante controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Briggs wants to sweep here but Dante controlling him for the moment. Dante works a leg free and moves into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dante's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. I looks like Dante might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Briggs looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dante controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Dante makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Briggs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dante controls the pace. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Despite being in the dominant position, Sam Dante just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Briggs scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dante doesn't seem bothered though. Dante stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Briggs. Briggs slips under a jab. Dante bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Briggs looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Dante shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Briggs defends it nicely. Briggs gets caught flat footed, as Dante shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Briggs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dante gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Briggs is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sam Dante dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Briggs misses with a head kick.
A cross from Dante lands. Dante bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Briggs sneaks back into half guard. Dante is controlling the pace.
Briggs is looking for a sweep. Dante is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Briggs is working hard here to advance position. Dante stalling. Briggs regains full guard. Nicely done. Dante really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Briggs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Briggs is trying to keep Dante in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Briggs looking for a sweep. Not yet Briggs, not yet. Dante slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Briggs is letting Dante control him for a moment. Dante working away. Dante slows the pace down. Briggs is looking to reverse the position. Briggs being controlled for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs regains half guard. Briggs is trying to stand.
Briggs actively working from the bottom here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Briggs is trying to stand up here but Dante is controlling him well. Dante controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Despite being in the dominant position, Sam Dante just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Briggs shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Jab from Dante. Briggs wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Briggs throws a head kick that misses. A jab from Dante misses. Briggs pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dante looks to score with a jab to the body but Briggs is just out of range. Briggs takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Sam Dante seems to be getting the better of the standup. Dante throws a shot from downtown. Briggs moves away and avoids it. Briggs misses with a takedown attempt and Dante counters with a single leg into guard. Briggs didn't expect that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sam Dante showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Dante fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Briggs checks it well. Briggs tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Dante counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dante cracks Briggs with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Dante throws the left hand but Briggs avoids the punch easily. Dante misses with a hook. Briggs ducked under it nicely. Briggs takes a jab right on the kisser.
Briggs is looking to land body kicks. Briggs tries to clinch there but Dante circles away.
Briggs doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dante counters with a takedown into side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Dante lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Dante in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sam Dante has got the better of the ground game so far. Briggs tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Dante presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Dante takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Briggs is trying desperately to improve position. Briggs wants to control but Dante is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dante controlling the position easily from mount. Dante is in the full mount, landing strikes. Dante sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. A nice elbow there by Dante. Dante tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dante scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Briggs is looking to improve his position but Dante isn't that keen on the idea. Briggs is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Briggs slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Briggs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dante performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Sam Dante is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight! Sam Dante comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dante has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
