Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Kinnunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seppo Suo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Kinnunen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seppo Suo!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Suo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Suo wants to stand but Kinnunen is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kinnunen keeping moving, preventing Suo from controlling successfully.
Suo showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Kinnunen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Suo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kinnunen is keeping the position for now.
Suo postures up and lands a big shot to Kinnunen's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kinnunen wants to sweep here but Suo controlling him for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Suo feints and then cracks Kinnunen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kinnunen down.

Suo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kinnunen throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Suo because Kinnunen loaded up on that one.
Suo tries to hold on but Kinnunen pushes him away.

Suo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

and Kinnunen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Suo!

Suo wants to hold on but Kinnunen pushes him away.
Kinnunen controlling the pace for now.

Kinnunen throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Suo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Kinnunen has hold of Suo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Suo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kinnunen lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Kinnunen tries to control but Suo wriggling away.
Suo is wriggling around trying to escape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kinnunen is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Kinnunen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Suo's guard.
Kinnunen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kinnunen stands up over Suo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kinnunen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Kinnunen counters with a single leg into guard. Suo didn't expect that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kinnunen lands a nice hook to Suo's body. Suo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Suo moves in looking to clinch but Kinnunen pushes him off.
Suo throws a front kick that sends Kinnunen stumbling back into the cage.

so Suo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Kinnunen is trying to control the position but Suo postures up.
Suo lands a couple of digs.
Suo wanted to stand there but Kinnunen had control of the position.
Suo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kinnunen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Suo wants to control from the top but Kinnunen keeps moving.
Kinnunen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Suo really wants to buck Kinnunen off and get back to his feet.

Kinnunen thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Suo is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kinnunen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Suo tries to reverse the position but Kinnunen maintains control.
Kinnunen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Suo hang on?
Kinnunen controlling from the full mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Suo really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Suo tries to hold on but Kinnunen postures up.
Suo is squirming around, avoiding Kinnunen's attempts to control the action.
Suo is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Daniel Kinnunen will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Kinnunen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kinnunen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Suo keeps working.
Kinnunen content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Suo throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Kinnunen wants to stand up but Suo is controlling the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kinnunen is just content to waste time from the top position. Suo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Suo is on top in guard.
Suo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kinnunen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kinnunen keeping moving, preventing Suo from controlling successfully.

Kinnunen is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Suo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Suo lands a nice looking body kick.

Suo has closed the distance and engaged Kinnunen in a clinch.
Suo tries for a takedown. No joy.

Kinnunen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Suo.
Kinnunen is pressed up against the cage. Suo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kinnunen down to the mat. Kinnunen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Daniel Kinnunen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Seppo Suo.

Suo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kinnunen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kinnunen's back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Suo tries to keep control of the position but Kinnunen is staying busy.
Suo avoiding Kinnunen 's attempts to control his hands.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Suo's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Daniel Kinnunen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kinnunen breaks Suo's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Daniel Kinnunen.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kinnunen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
