1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chad Buckle! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crawford darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Buckle looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Crawford not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Well, if Crawford is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Buckle looking for submissions off his back. Crawford is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Crawford works his way into full mount! Crawford landing punches. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Buckle postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Crawford is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Buckle, into his guard. Crawford works a leg free and moves into half guard. Buckle looks gassed! Crawford with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Buckle looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Crawford is looking for a kimura but Buckle is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Crawford to get the leverage. Buckle is trying to control but can't.

Crawford tries to control but Buckle wriggling away. Buckle tries to reverse the position but Crawford maintains control. Buckle is trying to reverse the position but instead Crawford has taken his back - oops!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Crawford is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Buckle knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Buckle for a finish. Crawford really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Buckle. Crawford has the hooks in. Buckle is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Buckle prevents Crawford from getting a body triangle. Buckle is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Crawford knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Buckle on the ground. Crawford tries to keep control of the position but Buckle is staying busy. Buckle preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Crawford. Crawford controlling well, preventing Buckle from escaping the position.

Buckle shoots in for a double leg but Crawford sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Buckle dives in and grabs Crawford's left leg, looking for a takedown. Crawford pushes down on Buckle's head and hops out. Crawford scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Crawford shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buckle as he avoids it easily. Crawford goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Buckle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Crawford as he avoids it easily. Brian Crawford has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Buckle. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Crawford. Buckle shoots in looking for a takedown. Crawford tries to sprawl out of it but Buckle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Crawford manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Crawford stuns Buckle with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Buckle avoids the head kick by Crawford.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crawford tries to clinch up. Buckle shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Crawford's guard. Buckle wants to control from the top but Crawford keeps moving. Buckle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Buckle drops back, looking for a kneebar! Crawford looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Crawford looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Crawford! Crawford working the head with strikes. Buckle is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Crawford off and has taken his back! You can see the frustration on Crawford's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buckle gets his hands free as Crawford looks to control. Buckle is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Crawford taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Buckle.
