Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Vasher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Gray! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasher instigates a clinch. Vasher lands a hook to the side of the head. Vasher gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Gray fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Vasher lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gray or not. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gray. A short uppercut from Vasher. Vasher effectively controlling the action here. Vasher lands a good knee to the midsection. Gray won't want to take too many of those. Vasher is stalling here.
Gray's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vasher cracks a nice hook into Gray's ribs. Gray tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Vasher counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gray thinking. Vasher misses with a hook. Marcus Vasher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gray doesn't manage to clinch there - Vasher circles away.
Vasher scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vasher wants to clinch and Gray counters with a nice body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasher lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Vasher tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Vasher avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gray tries to clinch but Vasher moves away and Vasher moves into the clinch. Gray has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Gray pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vasher closes the distance looking to clinch and Gray counters with a head kick. That will keep Vasher thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Vasher keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gray doesn't manage to clinch there - Vasher circles away.
Gray wants to clinch but Vasher slips to the side and Vasher counters with a nice uppercut. Vasher tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Gray counters with a takedown into side control. Gray looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gray is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Vasher will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasher is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Gray has just dragged him back down to the mat. Gray wants to control but Vasher is keeping him busy. Vasher bucks up and tries to throw Gray off but instead Gray has got his back! Gray trying to control momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasher controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gray misses with punches from the back. Gray keeps control of the position easily here as Vasher tries to buck him off.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. A lull in the action here.

A bit of a stalemate here. Vasher trying to get back to his feet but Gray is in full control for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gray moves into the clinch. Vasher works on Gray's body with a couple of short punches. Vasher lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Gray backwards. Vasher avoids a wild elbow strike from Gray. Vasher lands an elbow inside that Gray shrugs off.
It looks like Joe Gray has been cut. Vasher scores with a nice hook to the head. Gray taking a breather. Gray working hard to break the clinch. Vasher landing knees to the body.
Gray takes a shot to the head. Vasher is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Vasher lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Gray wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Vasher lands an elbow inside. Vasher is looking to control Gray's arms but Gray gets an underhook and turns him. Now Vasher has his back to the cage. Gray tries to pull guard but Vasher won't allow it.

Marcus Vasher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Gray. Gray scores with a shoulder strike. Gray is trying to break the clinch but Vasher has him pressed against the cage. Vasher using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gray has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Gray is trying to drag Vasher to the mat but Vasher just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Vasher will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gray up against the cage.

Gray tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Vasher avoids it. Vasher creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Gray's defenses. Vasher lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Gray backwards. Gray looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Vasher misses with a knee to the head. Gray is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Vasher is defending well for now. A battle for position here, against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gray tries to pull guard but Vasher holds him up against the cage and eventually Gray drops back down to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Gray's face as he tries to break the clinch. Gray goes for a takedown attempt but Vasher pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vasher tries to clinch but fails miserably and Gray counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vasher won't be happy with that. Vasher wants to get back to his feet but Gray drags him back down. Gray is looking to take a break and control but Vasher is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Vasher is trying to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gray decides to take the fight back to the feet. Joe Gray is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vasher closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Vasher obliges. Vasher lands a nice elbow. Vasher lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Marcus Vasher dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Joe Gray's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Vasher tries to buck Gray off but he can't manage it. Gray looking to control but Vasher is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Gray misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
