Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Scoop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Stevens looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Stevens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Scoop! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens misses with an uppercut. Scoop saw that one coming. Stevens throws an overhand right that lands on Scoop's shoulder, as Scoop tries to avoid the shot. Scoop slips under a jab from Stevens. Scoop throws a series of punches but Stevens avoids them all with ease. Scoop displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stevens throws out the jab. Scoop darts in and clinches Stevens up against the cage. Stevens looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Stevens wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Scoop has Stevens pressed against the cage, preventing Stevens from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Stevens wants to break free but Scoop has control.

Stevens is trying to break the clinch but Scoop is controlling him. Scoop is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Scoop drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stevens gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Scoop tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jay Stevens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Scoop. Scoop has picked Stevens up - he's going for a ride! Scoop dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Scoop lands a nice short elbow. Scoop seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Scoop is trying to control. Stevens wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Scoop wants to pass to mount but Stevens is defending the position. Scoop looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scoop sitting and controlling from the half guard. Stevens is breathing heavily. Stevens is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Scoop scores with a couple of nice shots. Scoop looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Scoop is looking to take a break and control but Stevens is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Stevens wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Scoop is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Scoop missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Scoop seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Scoop prevents Stevens from improving his position. Scoop looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Scoop lands strikes from half guard. Scoop decides to return to a standing position. Stevens throws a hook but Scoop blocks it. Scoop keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stevens.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scoop closes the distance and clinches. Scoop is pushing Stevens up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Stevens really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Scoop jumps into guard, dragging Stevens to the mat.
Scoop has his feet on Stevens's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Stevens stuffs the takedown attempt from Scoop. Scoop gets slowly back to his feet. Stevens throws out a loose jab but Scoop uses good head movement to avoid it. Scoop moves into the clinch. Scoop stalling.
Scoop pulls Stevens into guard.
Stevens avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stevens is sitting in close to Scoop's body. Scoop has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Stevens is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Stevens is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Scoop.
