Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Den Amsinghe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Charles Demont! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Demont is looking to clinch but Amsinghe is avoiding it.
Demont throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Amsinghe fails with the takedown. Demont looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Amsinghe shoots in for a double leg but Demont sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Demont slaps away a takedown attempt from Amsinghe, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Den Amsinghe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Demont will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Demont stuffs the takedown attempt from Amsinghe. Amsinghe gets slowly back to his feet. Demont defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Amsinghe. Demont lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Danga de danga de dang - Demont scores with a four punch combination! Some wild striking there from Demont.

That's one minute gone in the round. Amsinghe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Demont pinned against the cage. Demont gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Demont misses with a wild combination.

Amsinghe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Demont circles away. Demont keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Demont with a poor takedown and Amsinghe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Demont won't be happy with that. Demont looks gassed! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Amsinghe works to advance to full mount. Demont defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Amsinghe tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Demont is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amsinghe throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Demont because Amsinghe loaded up on that one. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Amsinghe controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amsinghe is going olschool here, as he tries to force Demont to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Demont shrugs it off. Amsinghe tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Demont tries to hold on but Amsinghe postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Amsinghe controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Den Amsinghe dominated that round. That's time! Amsinghe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Amsinghe shoots in but no luck this time. Amsinghe shoots in and drives through. Demont sprawls well. Charles Demont seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Amsinghe shoots for a double leg takedown but Demont sprawls well. He's pushed Amsinghe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Den Amsinghe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Amsinghe misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nice sprawl there from Demont as Amsinghe shoots in. Amsinghe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Demont was covering up waiting for the punch and Amsinghe finishes the takedown easily into guard. Demont is trying to control the position but Amsinghe postures up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Demont keeping moving, preventing Amsinghe from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amsinghe forces his way into half guard. Demont is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Amsinghe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Amsinghe's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Demont not allowing Amsinghe to control his hands. Amsinghe covering up well under a barage of strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Demont throwing sloppy strikes. Amsinghe rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Amsinghe is positioning himself well to prevent Demont advancing to mount. Demont throws a strike but Amsinghe avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Amsinghe is trying to keep Demont in close.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Amsinghe holds on and takes a little breather. Amsinghe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amsinghe is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Den Amsinghe just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Amsinghe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Demont circles away. Amsinghe takes a jab right on the kisser.
Amsinghe drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Amsinghe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Amsinghe fails to land the takedown. Demont cracks Amsinghe with a good jab. Demont fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Demont shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Amsinghe defends it nicely. Amsinghe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Demont's waist but Demont gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Amsinghe off to one side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Demont swings away with a leg kick that misses. Demont slaps away a takedown attempt from Amsinghe, before circling back to the center of the mat. Amsinghe fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Demont tries to clinch but fails miserably and Amsinghe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Demont won't be happy with that. Amsinghe wants to control but Demont is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Den Amsinghe dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Amsinghe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Amsinghe slips nicely into half guard. Amsinghe controlling the action here. Amsinghe decides to stand and escape the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Amsinghe. Amsinghe drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Demont keeping moving, preventing Amsinghe from controlling successfully. Amsinghe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Amsinghe content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amsinghe with a nice head shot there. Amsinghe showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Demont wants to stand but Amsinghe is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Amsinghe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Den Amsinghe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Den Amsinghe just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Amsinghe scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Charles Demont has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Amsinghe's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Den Amsinghe showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Amsinghe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
