Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon DaSilva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodney Stewart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon DaSilva! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stewart decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Stewart throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. DaSilva is looking to improve his position.
DaSilva moves into full guard.
Stewart would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. DaSilva looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Stewart throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as DaSilva works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stewart preventing the sweep. Stewart working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. DaSilva throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stewart wanted to stand there but DaSilva had control of the position. Stewart wants to pass the guard but DaSilva is keeping the position. DaSilva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stewart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stewart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. DaSilva looking for a guillotine here but Stewart defends easily.
Stewart with a nice head shot there. Stewart throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as DaSilva works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stewart knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for DaSilva on the ground. Stewart trying to control the position from guard on top but DaSilva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stewart postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. DaSilva wants to sweep but no luck. Stewart pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. DaSilva is keeping the position for now. DaSilva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Stewart is looking to clinch but DaSilva is avoiding it.
DaSilva doesn't succeed with the takedown and Stewart counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. DaSilva looks gassed! DaSilva tries to get to full guard but Stewart has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stewart decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Stewart clinches up with DaSilva and pushes him back against the cage. DaSilva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stewart gets the underhooks and prevents it.
DaSilva drops down looking for an ankle pick but Stewart pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rodney Stewart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandon DaSilva. Stewart closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DaSilva moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. DaSilva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. DaSilva avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. DaSilva working for a triangle but Stewart defends it easily.
Stewart stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DaSilva swivels though and keeps the full guard. DaSilva manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
DaSilva has control of Stewart's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Stewart regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DaSilva wants to finish this one by submission but Stewart is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from DaSilva. DaSilva blocks Stewart's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. DaSilva trying to control but Stewart is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. DaSilva goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Stewart turns into him and now he's in DaSilva's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rodney Stewart will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Stewart looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. DaSilva manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Stewart got a little sloppy there for a moment and DaSilva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stewart has managed to get both his arms back between DaSilva's legs - danger averted. DaSilva looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Stewart is looking to stand up but DaSilva won't let him. DaSilva looking to sweep here. No luck so far. DaSilva keeping full guard, as Stewart tries to pass. Stewart working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of DaSilva's head. Stewart tries to free his leg and advance position but DaSilva is retaining full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stewart throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stewart trying to stand up but can't free himself from DaSilva's guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stewart pushes DaSilva up against the cage in a clinch. DaSilva tries for a takedown. No joy.
DaSilva goes for a takedown attempt but Stewart pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
DaSilva misses with a takedown attempt and Stewart counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for DaSilva! Rodney Stewart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandon DaSilva. DaSilva is in all sorts of trouble here.
DaSilva is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. DaSilva gets back to half guard. Rodney Stewart overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

DaSilva looking for submissions off his back. DaSilva slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Stewart has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of DaSilva is proving hard to escape from. Stewart is sitting in close to DaSilva's body. DaSilva has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Stewart is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Stewart is tapping! That was a very nice submission by DaSilva.
