Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ratto Macfedries! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luiz Palhares! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macfedries stuffs the takedown attempt from Palhares. Palhares gets slowly back to his feet. Palhares shoots in and drives through. Macfedries sprawls well. Palhares throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Macfedries's waist but Macfedries gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Palhares off to one side. Ratto Macfedries has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Palhares. Palhares lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Palhares. Macfedries lands a big head kick that sends Palhares tumbling to the mat! Macfedries takes a step backwards and waves Palhares back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Luiz Palhares has been cut. Macfedries throws a sloppy head kick and Palhares moves out of range easily. Palhares fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Macfedries sprawls well initially but Palhares persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Macfedries moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Macfedries working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palhares passes Macfedries's left leg - he's now in half guard. Macfedries knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Palhares on the ground. Macfedries trying to control here.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Palhares is working for a kimura but Macfedries is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Palhares wants to pass the guard but Macfedries is defending well. Macfedries tries to get to full guard but Palhares has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Macfedries tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Palhares paws at him with a jab and circles away. Macfedries tries a head kick but it misses.
Palhares tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A slapping leg kick lands for Macfedries.
Palhares closes the distance and clinches up with Macfedries, looking for a takedown. Palhares pushes Macfedries against the ropes but Macfedries circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Macfedries stuffs the takedown attempt from Palhares. Palhares gets slowly back to his feet. Palhares shoots in for a double leg but Macfedries sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Palhares is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Macfedries tries a head kick but it misses.
Palhares bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Palhares wants to control but Macfedries is keeping him busy. Macfedries managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Palhares.
Palhares wants to lay and pray for a moment but Macfedries keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ratto Macfedries dominated that round. The cut man is working on Luiz Palhares's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Palhares throws an overhand right that lands on Macfedries's shoulder, as Macfedries tries to avoid the shot. Palhares changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Macfedries tries to avoid it but Palhares manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Macfedries to the ground. Macfedries escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Macfedries throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Palhares shoots for a double leg takedown but Macfedries sprawls well. He's pushed Palhares's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Macfedries tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Macfedries circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Palhares drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Macfedries follows Palhares to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
