Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JL Salac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Lau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lau has chosen Why Can't We Be Friends? as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, JL Salac! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dan Lau! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crunch! Lau slams his shin into Salac's torso. Lau leaves Salac with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lau cracks Salac with an open hand slap. Lau moves away from the strike by Salac. Lau looks for the body kick but Salac saw that one coming. Lau tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Salac was well out of range. Poor timing from Lau. Lau works Salac's body with a nice hook. Salac has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lau finds it's way round the side to connect with Salac's head. Lau digs a good hook to Salac's body.
Lau lands a head kick. Salac smiles back at him and beckons him forward. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Salac avoids a punch combination nicely.
Salac doesn't manage to clinch there - Lau circles away.
Lau dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Salac. That did some damage!
That's one minute gone in the round. Lau scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Salac doesn't seem bothered though. Salac is breathing heavily. A right-left combo lands from Lau. Salac moves out of range of the leg kick from Lau. Lau cracks a nice hook into Salac's ribs. Salac gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Lau fails to land with a series of punches.

Lau paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. This has been an exciting period of action! A shot to de liver by Lau. Beautiful body shot. Lau looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lau goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Lau lands a left and a right that send Salac crashing to the mat, dazed. Lau thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like JL Salac has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lau drops Salac with a beautiful combination! Salac stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lau is looking for the KO!
Salac is rocked! Lau cracks a nice hook into Salac's ribs. Salac tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Lau changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Lau cracks Salac with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Lau scores with a one two! Salac had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Salac needs to keep his hands up - Lau had a free shot at his head there. Lau connects with a body shot. Lau comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Lau scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Lau goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Oh Salac is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Salac needs to keep his hands up - Lau had a free shot at his head there. Lau misses with a jab, cross combination.
Salac seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lau misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Salac takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lau throws a right hand that Salac ducks under and follows up with a left that Salac also avoids with ease. Salac takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Lau scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Salac doesn't seem bothered though. Salac tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Lau lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Salac circles away quickly and effectively. Lau connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Lau with a body punch. A glancing blow. Dan Lau is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lau throws a one two combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lau throws a one two combo.
Salac moves out of range of the body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lau's corner calls for a 1-2. Lau obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Lau tries to land a front kick but Salac steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Lau misses with a body kick. Dan Lau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lau looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Salac takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Lau digs a good body shot into Salac's ribs. Lau throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Danga de danga de dang - Lau scores with a four punch combination! Lau lands with a shot to the body. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Salac walks into a stiff left hand from Lau. Lau scores with a punch to the head. Lau lands with a nice body punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Lau dominated that round. The cut man is working on JL Salac's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lau dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Salac closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lau did well to prevent Salac getting side control. Lau controlling the position for now. Salac tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lau knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Lau is pressing down on Salac's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lau is pulling down on Salac's head. It's preventing any offense from Salac, at least for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salac wants to stand but Lau has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Lau wants to sweep here but Salac controlling him for the moment. Lau pulls Salac in close to his closed guard and prevents Salac from doing any damage or advancing position. Lau has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Salac thows a big elbow that misses. Lau trying to keep a closed guard but Salac is proving a slippery customer.
Salac pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lau is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lau is pulling down on Salac's head. It's preventing any offense from Salac, at least for the moment.
Despite being in the dominant position, Dan Lau just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lau tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Salac was well out of range. Poor timing from Lau. Salac looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lau throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Salac shoots in for a double leg but Lau sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Salac tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. JL Salac is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. A right-left combo lands from Lau. Lau throws a series of punches but Salac avoids them all with ease. Lau bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Salac's head backwards. Lau bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Salac looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Salac lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Lau scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Lau checks a leg kick. Lau cracks Salac with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Salac fails with the takedown. Lau lands a jab to Salac's midsection. Salac dodges the punch combination from Lau.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Lau showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on JL Salac's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Salac shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lau but Lau pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lau tries a head kick but it misses.
Dan Lau seems to be getting the better of the standup. Salac tries to move into range but Lau moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Salac fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Salac shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lau sprawls well. Lau wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Salac gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JL Salac. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lau digs a good hook to Salac's body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lau lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lau throws a series of strikes that have Salac backpedaling.
Lau lands a left and a right that send Salac crashing to the mat, dazed. Lau thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Lau rushes Salac with punches - Salac moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Salac goes down! Lau follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
