Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Churko Cridell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Shifflett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shifflett has chosen System Of A Down - Toxicity as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Churko Cridell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Shifflett!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shifflett closes the distance and clinches up with Cridell, looking for a takedown. Shifflett pushes Cridell against the cage but Cridell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shifflett moves in looking to clinch but Cridell pushes him off.
Shifflett fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Shifflett shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cridell defends it nicely.
Churko Cridell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ray Shifflett.
Cridell connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Cridell shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Cridell fails with a takedown attempt.
Shifflett looks for a takedown but Cridell sprawls well.
Cridell misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cridell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Cridell has his takedown stuffed
and Shifflett counters with a shoot takedown. Cridell fights it but they end up in guard.
Shifflett working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Shifflett thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Shifflett working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cridell's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shifflett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Shifflett throwing strikes from guard but Cridell blocks nicely.
Cridell is breathing heavily.
Shifflett landing with the ground and pound.
Shifflett scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Shifflett in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Shifflett trying to control the position from guard on top but Cridell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Shifflett wants to control from the top but Cridell keeps moving.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Cridell looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shifflett passes into side control.
Shifflett scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Cridell to see if he's OK.

Shifflett tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cridell is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Shifflett wants to control but Cridell is keeping him busy.
Shifflett cracks Cridell with a big elbow.
Cridell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shifflett on the ground.

Shifflett controls the position.
Shifflett has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shifflett scores with a couple of short elbows.

Shifflett wants to control but Cridell is keeping him busy.

Shifflett lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Cridell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cridell tries to get out of the position.
Shifflett has an Americana. Cridell didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Shifflett is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Shifflett hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
