PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandar Dragoslav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matei Buglosi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragoslav has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Aleksandar Dragoslav looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandar Dragoslav!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matei Buglosi!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buglosi dodges the punch combination from Dragoslav.
Buglosi looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Buglosi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Buglosi goes for a takedown attempt but Dragoslav pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Buglosi pulls Dragoslav in close to his closed guard and prevents Dragoslav from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
No luck for Dragoslav with that takedown attempt.
Dragoslav could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Buglosi doesn't manage to clinch there - Dragoslav circles away.

Dragoslav shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dragoslav showed some decent athleticism there.
Buglosi wants to control but Dragoslav is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Dragoslav fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Buglosi sprawls well initially but Dragoslav persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Buglosi is staying active underneath Dragoslav, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dragoslav wants to control the pace but Buglosi is squirming around nicely.

Buglosi manages to regain half guard. Good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dragoslav scores with a one two! Buglosi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Dragoslav is trying to drag Buglosi to the mat but Buglosi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown by Dragoslav or perhaps it was just good defense by Buglosi which made him look bad.
Aleksandar Dragoslav seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Buglosi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dragoslav's waist but Dragoslav gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Buglosi off to one side.
Aleksandar Dragoslav has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matei Buglosi.

Dragoslav closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Buglosi to the mat! Buglosi manages to get full guard.

Dragoslav postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Buglosi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dragoslav, into his guard.

Dragoslav rushes Buglosi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Buglosi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Buglosi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dragoslav pinned against the cage. Dragoslav gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Buglosi counters with a shoot takedown. Dragoslav fights it but they end up in guard.

Dragoslav manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Dragoslav shoots in looking for a takedown. Buglosi tries to sprawl out of it but Dragoslav keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Buglosi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Aleksandar Dragoslav will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Buglosi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dragoslav uses from the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Buglosi lands with a kick to the temple. Dragoslav shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Dragoslav shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Buglosi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Dragoslav got a little sloppy there for a moment and Buglosi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dragoslav has managed to get both his arms back between Buglosi's legs - danger averted.

Buglosi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Matei Buglosi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Buglosi doesn't manage to clinch there - Dragoslav circles away.
Aleksandar Dragoslav is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Matei Buglosi.
I think Dragoslav has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
