Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vincent Chase had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vincent Chase! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heath Smith! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith checks the leg kick. Chase throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Chase not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Smith sitting in guard, not really doing much. Chase is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith advances position into side control! Chase seems a little lost for a moment, as Smith dominates the positioning. Smith is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Chase knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Smith advances to mount. Smith goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Chase is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith wants to stand but Chase is controlling the position. Chase wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. Chase loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chase is one step ahead there. Smith wants to get back to his feet but Chase is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Chase wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith kicks Chase off and gets to his feet. Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chase. Chase moves out of range as Smith throws a body kick.
Chase throws a left and a right that both miss
and Smith counters with a shoot takedown. Chase fights it but they end up in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Chase gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Smith has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Chase off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith avoids the head kick by Chase.
Chase throws a combination that misses and Smith counters with a nice uppercut. Smith scores with a sloppy right hand. Chase should have avoided that one. Chase takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith staying calm. Chase gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Heath Smith dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Smith finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Chase throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Chase is looking for a sweep. Smith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Well, if Smith is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Chase is in trouble now - Smith has advanced to mount! Smith pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Smith moves to the back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith has good solid back control here. Smith working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Chase is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Smith gets his way!
Chase wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith looking to control and managing it successfully. Chase wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Smith.
Smith putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Smith misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Smith tries to control but Chase wriggling away. Smith unloading with bombs!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chase is looking to get to half guard. Smith scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Chase?
Chase swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Smith thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Smith controlling the pace for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith goes for an armbar but Chase turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Chase.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Chase is controlling him. Chase trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Chase with a flurry of punches that miss. Chase trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Smith manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Smith is in close to Chase's body, working some short punches and elbows. Smith controls from within his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Heath Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Chase falls off balance throwing a combination
and Smith counters with a single leg into guard. Chase didn't expect that. Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Chase wants to sweep but no luck. Smith wants to control from the top but Chase keeps moving. Smith showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chase trying to control the position.
Chase utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Smith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Chase! Smith looking for a guillotine from mount but Chase is having none of it. Smith lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Chase hang on?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith working the ground and pound effectively.
Smith moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Chase has worked his arm free - good work by Chase!
Smith throwing shots but missing, from side control. Chase is not content to let Smith control the position. Chase wants to control but Smith postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chase is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Chase tries to get back to half guard but can't. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Chase wants to control but Smith postures up. Vincent Chase has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chase is looking to regain half guard here but Smith keeps moving and retains side control. Smith wants to take a breather but Chase manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Smith. Heath Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Chase's half guard. Smith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Heath Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Chase wants to get back to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Heath Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
