Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steve Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas misses with a head kick.
Thomas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones.

Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thomas napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones takes a little break here. Thomas wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Steve Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jones. That did some damage!

Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Thomas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jones is really struggling to control Thomas but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jones is pressing down on Thomas's thigh, looking to free his foot. Thomas is holding on for now.

No joy there for Thomas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Fred Thomas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Thomas is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jones asserts his dominance and retains side control.

I would just about give that final round to Fred Thomas.
