Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Viko Maafala! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maafala.
Wallace circles away from the clinch attempt.

Wallace swats away the attempt to clinch by Maafala. Maafala misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Maafala tries to clinch up but Wallace circles away and keeps his distance. Maafala is looking to clinch but Wallace is avoiding it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Wallace wriggles free and stands up. Wallace keeps the fight on the outside. Wallace checks a low kick from Maafala. Wallace throws a head kick that misses. Wallace keeps the fight on the outside. Maafala fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wallace, pushing him back against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Maafala. A frustrated look appears on Wallace's face as he tries to break the clinch. Maafala tries to stall but Wallace uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Maafala scores with a shot to the side of Wallace's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace is in close to Maafala's body, working some short punches and elbows. Maafala has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Maafala manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wallace manages to get himself to full guard.

Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maafala working some strikes from top position. Wallace wants to sweep here but Maafala controlling him for the moment. Maafala drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maafala jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Wallace wants to sweep here but Maafala controlling him for the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Maafala wants to clinch up but Wallace keeps it at a distance. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Maafala tries to clinch up but Wallace circles away and keeps his distance. Wallace tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Maafala is able to avoid easily. Wallace drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Maafala's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Wallace can't keep his opponent in guard - Maafala advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Maafala seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wallace does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maafala connects with a nice short shot to Wallace's temple. Maafala not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wallace is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maafala's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maafala's back! Wallace lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. Wallace is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Maafala has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Wallace doesn't have the hooks in and Maafala manages to turn into his guard.
