Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sirium Dante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksey Drubetsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sirium Dante! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksey Drubetsky! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Drubetsky. Drubetsky looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Drubetsky shoots in but Dante avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dante lands with an uppercut that bounces Drubetsky off the cage and back into rage. A right-left combo lands from Dante.
It looks like Aleksey Drubetsky has been cut. Dante lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Drubetsky backs up against the cage.

Dante pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Dante looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Drubetsky fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dante avoids it really well and circles away. Sirium Dante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksey Drubetsky. Dante stalks Drubetsky and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Drubetsky's face. Drubetsky staggers backwards, shaken. Dante lands a jab to the nose. Dante throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Dante gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dante tries to break free but Drubetsky pushes him back against the cage. Dante escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dante darts in and clinches Drubetsky up against the cage. A shot in the inside from Dante. Drubetsky has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dante is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Dante wants to break free but Drubetsky has control.

Drubetsky is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Drubetsky has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dante can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Drubetsky is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dante defends well. Drubetsky is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Drubetsky escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dante gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Drubetsky looking for a sweep. Not yet Drubetsky, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dante is looking to stand up but Drubetsky won't let him. Drubetsky lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dante! Drubetsky has control of Dante's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dante regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Drubetsky jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dante is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dante and Drubetsky has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dante is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Drubetsky asserts his dominance and retains side control. Dante avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Drubetsky. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dante is not content to let Drubetsky control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drubetsky wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dante has him pressed against the cage. Drubetsky drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dante gets the underhooks and prevents it.
