Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gene Kiniski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul comes to the cage accompanied by Violence Fetish - Disturbed. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gene Kiniski!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kiniski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paul bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kiniski's head backwards.

Xavier Paul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gene Kiniski.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kiniski changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Paul looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Paul is staying active underneath Kiniski, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kiniski perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Kiniski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Paul manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kiniski has Paul in his guard.

Kiniski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
