Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johan Fransson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fausto Carmelon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fransson's entrance music is Idas Sommarvisa. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johan Fransson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Fausto Carmelon! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fransson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fransson keeps the fight on the outside. No luck with that takedown attempt from Carmelon. Fransson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carmelon to the mat! Carmelon manages to get full guard. Carmelon tries to land a sweep but no joy. Carmelon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fransson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Carmelon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Fransson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Fransson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Carmelon controls Fransson momentarily but Fransson frees himself. Fransson throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fransson trying to control but Carmelon is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carmelon doesn't manage to clinch there - Fransson circles away.
Carmelon with a lazy takedown attempt and Fransson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Fransson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fransson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carmelon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fransson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Carmelon is staying active underneath Fransson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Carmelon tries to kick Fransson off but Fransson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Carmelon is looking to improve his position.
Carmelon pushes Fransson off looking to stand but Fransson dives back in and keeps control.
Carmelon is trying to get back to full guard. Carmelon wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carmelon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Carmelon keeping moving, preventing Fransson from controlling successfully. Fransson looking to pass the guard. Fransson passes Carmelon's left leg - he's now in half guard. Fransson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Fransson throwing shots but Carmelon is blocking nicely. Fransson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carmelon's head. Carmelon is looking to control Fransson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Carmelon avoid being mounted? Fransson is trying to control the action in half guard but Carmelon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Fransson gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Fransson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johan Fransson dominated that round. That's time! Fransson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Fransson moves forwards but Carmelon connects with a nice, crisp jab. Fransson throws a head kick that misses. Carmelon with a poor takedown and Fransson counters with a single leg into guard. Carmelon didn't expect that. Fransson wants to control from the top but Carmelon keeps moving. Fransson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Fransson passes Carmelon's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Carmelon wants to get back to full guard. Fransson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fransson is figuring out what he wants to do next. Carmelon keeping hold of Fransson's head, controlling as best he can. Fransson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Carmelon!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Carmelon is desperately trying to improve his position but Fransson has a good base and remains in mount. Carmelon tries to lock up and control but Fransson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Fransson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Fransson raining down shots from the mount! Fransson looking to control but Carmelon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Carmelon tries to hold on but Fransson pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fransson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Carmelon is on top in guard.
Carmelon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Fransson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Carmelon frees his head nicely. Oh but Fransson has switched to an armbar! Carmelon is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
