Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pawel Popek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo Santos! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Popek decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Popek keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Santos is looking to control Popek's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Santos avoid being mounted? Popek is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Santos is just riding it out for now. Popek eventually gives up the hold. Santos is trying to maintain the position but Popek is very close to passing his half guard. Popek keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Popek tries to clinch there but Santos circles away.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Santos has his takedown stuffed and Popek counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Santos's guard now. Santos is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Popek defends well. Popek scoring with some ground and pound.

Popek lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
