Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Palowakski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palowakski comes to the cage accompanied by Burning Down the House. Edwards has chosen Funk Soul Brotha - FatBoy Slim as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Edwards! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edwards moves out of range as Palowakski strikes. Edwards is looking to clinch but Palowakski is avoiding it.
Palowakski fails with an attempt to clinch.
Palowakski looks to land a right hand but Edwards moved out of range. Palowakski tries to clinch but Edwards is having none of it. Palowakski takes the fight into the clinch. Palowakski tries to break free but Edwards pushes him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Palowakski is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Edwards misses with an elbow over the top. Edwards pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Palowakski fails to land. Palowakski is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Palowakski stalling.

Edwards gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Palowakski blocks an elbow strike. Palowakski working aggressively here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Palowakski doesn't manage to clinch there - Edwards circles away.
Fred Palowakski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Edwards slips under a jab. Palowakski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Edwards swats him away and circles back towards the center. Palowakski fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Edwards blocks a jab. Palowakski throws a leg kick but Edwards checks it. Palowakski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Edwards moves away. Palowakski swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Palowakski lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
It looks like Mark Edwards has been cut. Palowakski misses with a straight right. Palowakski connects with a right hand. Edwards shakes it off. Palowakski wants to clinch but Edwards slips to the side and Edwards counters with a good, hard body kick but Palowakski shrugs it off. Palowakski is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Edwards lands with a kick to the temple. Palowakski shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Fred Palowakski has been cut. Palowakski tries to close the distance and clinch but Edwards swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Edwards misses with a body punch
and Palowakski counters with a shoot takedown. Edwards fights it but they end up in guard. Edwards trying to keep a closed guard but Palowakski is proving a slippery customer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mark Edwards will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Palowakski lands a nice hook to Edwards's body. Edwards takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Edwards checks a leg kick. Edwards looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Edwards tries to close the distance and clinch but Palowakski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Edwards misses with a head kick.

and Edwards counters with a nice body shot. Mark Edwards seems to be getting the better of the standup. Edwards misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Palowakski shoots in for a takedown but Edwards shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palowakski tries to clinch but Edwards moves out of range. Palowakski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Edwards is trying to keep Palowakski in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Edwards is trying to control the position but Palowakski postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Palowakski gets to his feet. Edwards looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! The fighters circling - Palowakski throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Edwards jabbing away but nothing is landing. Palowakski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Edwards avoids it really well and circles away. Mark Edwards is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Edwards tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palowakski moves out of range of the body kick. Edwards swats away the attempt to clinch by Palowakski. Palowakski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Edwards swats him away and circles back towards the center. Edwards throws a sloppy head kick and Palowakski moves out of range easily. Palowakski lands a with a good body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Palowakski tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Edwards counters with a head kick. That will keep Palowakski thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Palowakski throws a jab but it's blocked by Edwards. Edwards takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Palowakski lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Palowakski closes the distance and clinches up with Edwards, looking for a takedown. Palowakski pushes Edwards against the cage but Edwards circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Palowakski takes a swing at Edwards's ribcage but misses. Palowakski misses with a wild body shot. Edwards ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Edwards tries to clinch up but Palowakski circles away and keeps his distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Edwards lands a nice leg kick that just misses Palowakski's sensitive parts. Palowakski misses with an uppercut. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palowakski avoids the head kick by Edwards.
Palowakski tries to clinch but Edwards moves away and Edwards counters with a head kick that wobbles Palowakski - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Edwards sends him down. This one is all over!
