Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lisa Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lincoln Hawk! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawk throws a looping overhand right but Williams ducks down to avoid it. Williams is looking to clinch. Hawk throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Williams sees it coming and avoids it easily. Hawk bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hawk throws a series of punches but Williams avoids them all with ease. Williams misses the shot to the body. Hawk looks to throw the jab but Williams is out of range. Williams dodges the punch combination from Hawk.
Williams takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Some wild striking there from Hawk.
Hawk tries to clinch but fails miserably and Williams counters with a big head kick but Hawk shrugs it off. Hawk waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Williams. A punch combination from Williams misses. Williams slips a jab from Hawk. Hawk throws a big shot that misses. Hawk tries to clinch but fails miserably so Williams counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawk has control of Williams's left arm, preventing Williams from doing any damage. Hawk has a closed guard, preventing Williams from standing up. Hawk has his hands on Williams's head, controlling the position. Hawk keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hawk is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams wants to stand but Hawk is controlling his posture from full guard. Williams trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hawk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hawk is proving hard to escape from. Hawk has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Williams looking to pass the guard. Hawk pulls Williams in close to prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hawk is looking to sinch up a triangle. Williams throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hawk's body to avoid the submission. Hawk has instead reached around Williams's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hawk arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
