Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hucklebuck Cassidy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to When Will They Shoot. The crowd seem to be enjoying Cassidy's choice of entrance music: It's so easy. Cassidy has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cassidy swinging wilding here.
Cassidy shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
Smith uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cassidy.
Cassidy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smith is fending him off so far but Cassidy persists. Nope, Smith circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith lands a nice looking body kick.
Cassidy looks gassed!
Cassidy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Barry Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hucklebuck Cassidy.
Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Cassidy which made him look bad.
Cassidy throws a hook but Smith blocks it.

Smith is looking to slow Cassidy down with leg kicks.

Cassidy throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Cassidy cracks Smith with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Smith is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cassidy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Smith manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Smith is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Cassidy in side control lands a decent elbow.
Barry Smith's cut is getting worse.
Cassidy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well.

Smith gets back to half guard.
Cassidy is trying to control the action in half guard but Smith is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Cassidy working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Smith's thigh. Smith counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Cassidy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Smith looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Smith looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Smith!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Cassidy manages to get back to half guard.

Cassidy wants to control the action here but instead Smith manages to pass to full mount!
Smith seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Cassidy is holding on tight.
Smith looking for a guillotine from mount but Cassidy is having none of it.

Smith has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cassidy's face.
It looks like Hucklebuck Cassidy has been cut.
Smith lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Smith with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

The has opened up Hucklebuck Cassidy's cut even more.
Smith postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cassidy looks a forlorn figure.

Smith lands a nice shot to the head.
Cassidy is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?
The cut above Hucklebuck Cassidy's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smith content just to control the position here.
The referee warns Cassidy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hucklebuck Cassidy's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Smith lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hucklebuck Cassidy's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Barry Smith!
