Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Syman Omapoika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Gotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Gotti!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gotti misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Omapoika dodges the punch combination from Gotti.
Omapoika showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gotti.
Gotti misses with a two punch combination.

Omapoika feints and as Gotti raises his hands in defense, Omapoika changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Omapoika loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gotti can do anything to dispel that myth.
Omapoika throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gotti works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Omapoika drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gotti dives on top into guard.

Omapoika had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gotti defends it easily.
Gotti must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Omapoika is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gotti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Omapoika has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gotti has managed to get both his arms back between Omapoika's legs - danger averted.

Omapoika escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gotti gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Omapoika manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gotti wants to get back to his feet.

Omapoika quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Omapoika but it's paid off an Gotti is forced to tap! Nice work by Omapoika.
