A fine choice. Shields has chosen Swagga Like Us by T.I. as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida misses with a few strikes there.
Shields closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Shields happy to just control the position for now.
Machida is looking for a sweep.
Shields tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Machida wants to get back to his feet.

Shields wants to lay and pray for a moment but Machida keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Dameon Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shields misses with a takedown attempt - Machida sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dexter Shields dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Machida moves out of range of the leg kick from Shields.

Machida throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Machida lands with a straight right. Shields didn't see that one coming.
Shields swats away the attempt to clinch by Machida.
Machida ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shields moves away.
Shields clinches with his opponent.
Machida wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Shields breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dameon Machida is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Danga de danga de dang - Machida scores with a four punch combination!
Machida throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shields connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Machida tumbling to the canvas! Shields pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Machida was done - good stoppage!
