Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vidal Persposky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Persposky has chosen ABBA - Waterloo as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vidal Persposky! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Persposky. A head kick misses from Jones. Jones cracks a nice hook into Persposky's ribs. Persposky jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jones is rocked!
It looks like Paul Jones has been cut. Persposky looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely. Jones lands a head kick!
Persposky loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch. Persposky tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Persposky clinches with his opponent.
Jones prevents Persposky from breaking the clinch. Jones breaks from the clinch.
Persposky falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Persposky fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones stands and steps away. Persposky gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Jones clinches with his opponent.

Persposky tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Jones's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Jones manages to break the clinch.
Vidal Persposky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Persposky connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jones momentarily.
A head kick misses from Jones. Jones lands with a slapping head kick. Persposky tries to clinch up and Jones counters with a head kick. That will keep Persposky thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! A jab lands there for Persposky. Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Persposky tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jones counters with a leg kick. A punch combination from Jones misses. Persposky clobbers Jones with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Persposky has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
Persposky breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones gets a clinch. Persposky wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Persposky lands a hook to the side of the head. Persposky breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Persposky shows good takedown defense. Vidal Persposky is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Persposky tries to clinch up and Jones counters with a good low kick that Persposky was not able to check.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones dodges the punch combination from Persposky.
Persposky looks gassed! Jones closes the distance and clinches. Jones successfully pulls guard.
Jones has a closed guard, preventing Persposky from standing up. Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Persposky's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Persposky is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones stands and steps away. Persposky gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Persposky takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses. Persposky closes the distance but Jones moves to the side and Jones counters with a head kick. That will keep Persposky thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Jones clinches up against the cage. Persposky wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.

Persposky takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Jones circles away from the clinch attempt and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones. Persposky is trying to maintain a safe position but Jones gets an underhook and turns Persposky into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Jones clinches. Persposky is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks. Persposky manages to break the clinch.
Persposky lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into rage. Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Persposky. Persposky throws a leg kick that is checked and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Jones misses with a punch on the inside.
Persposky tries to break the clinch but Jones is controlling the position. Persposky gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Persposky working some nice short punches in the clinch. Persposky lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Persposky wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Persposky is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks. Persposky escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice jab there from Persposky. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Persposky darts in trying to clinch and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Persposky is lucky that one didn't land flush. Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Persposky looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Jones dominated that round. The cut man is working on Paul Jones's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Persposky pushes Jones back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Persposky working some nice short punches in the clinch. Persposky tries to stall but Jones uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Persposky is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Persposky wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.

Jones throws a head kick but Persposky moves out of range.
Persposky scores with a jab. Jones acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Jones needs to keep his hands up - Persposky had a free shot at his head there. Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Persposky avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jones.
That's one minute gone in the round. Persposky keeps control of the position for the meantime. Persposky is breathing heavily. Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Persposky is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Persposky wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Persposky keeps working. Jones slips a nice elbow through Persposky's hands, connecting with Persposky's forehead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jones is pressing down on Persposky's thigh, looking to free his foot. Persposky is holding on for now. Persposky wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Persposky bucks up and throws Jones to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

No joy there for Persposky, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Persposky closes the distance but Jones moves to the side and Jones makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Persposky really felt that one! Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Persposky. Persposky closes the distance but Jones moves to the side and Jones counters with a body kick. Persposky might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Persposky looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range. Persposky closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Jones is looking to break free of the clinch but Persposky has double underhooks. Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Vidal Persposky seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jones tries to keep at a distance but Persposky has taken the fight into the clinch. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Persposky. Jones manages to break the clinch.
Persposky lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Jones can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Persposky and Jones drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Persposky.
