Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mick Liddrop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miroslaw Okonski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mick Liddrop could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Miroslaw Okonski's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mick Liddrop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miroslaw Okonski!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okonski misses with a takedown attempt - Liddrop sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Okonski darts in and clinches Liddrop up against the cage.
Okonski has Liddrop pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Liddrop manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Okonski tries to circle away but Liddrop has him pinned against the cage.
Okonski is trying to break the clinch but Liddrop has him pressed against the cage.

Liddrop pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Okonski fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mick Liddrop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miroslaw Okonski.

Okonski shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Liddrop manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Okonski wants to control from the top but Liddrop keeps moving.
Liddrop on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Liddrop tries to get out of the position.
Okonski wants to get up but he can't break Liddrop's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Okonski decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Okonski fails to land the takedown.
Okonski looks gassed!
No luck for Okonski with that takedown attempt.

Liddrop rushes Okonski and presses him up against the cage.
Liddrop is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Okonski wants to break free but Liddrop has control.
Liddrop lands a shoulder strike.
Okonski's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!


It looks like Miroslaw Okonski has been cut.
Liddrop wants a takedown but no success here.
Liddrop drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Okonski gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Liddrop decides to pull guard.

Okonski is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Liddrop is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Liddrop has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Liddrop stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Okonski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Liddrop controlling from the top position.
Okonski has a closed guard, preventing Liddrop from standing up.
Okonski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Liddrop sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Okonski is trying to control the position but Liddrop postures up.
Liddrop stays in close to Okonski's body and controls the position.
Liddrop has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Liddrop tries to stand but Okonski is controlling from the bottom.
Liddrop won't allow Okonski to get back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Okonski feints and then cracks Liddrop's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Liddrop down.
A nice combination there by Okonski.
Liddrop tries for a takedown but Okonski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Liddrop fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Liddrop pushes Okonski up against the cage in a clinch.

Okonski decides to pull guard.
Okonski manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Liddrop manages to get himself to full guard.

Okonski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Liddrop has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Okonski has managed to get both his arms back between Liddrop's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Liddrop checks a low kick from Okonski.

Okonski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Liddrop is looking for a sweep.
Liddrop is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Liddrop is looking to reverse the position.
Liddrop knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Okonski on the ground.
Okonski scores with a couple of short elbows.
Okonski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Liddrop keeps working.

Okonski decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Okonski rushes Liddrop and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Liddrop is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Okonski is defending well for now.
Liddrop goes for a takedown in the clinch but Okonski prevents it.

Okonski closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Liddrop did well to prevent Okonski getting side control.
Okonski wants to control but Liddrop is keeping him busy.

Okonski is trying to control. Liddrop wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Okonski takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Liddrop is refusing to be controlled, as Okonski sits in half guard.
Liddrop won't allow Okonski to pass to mount.
Liddrop is looking to improve his position.
Liddrop keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Okonski shoots for a double leg takedown but Liddrop sprawls well. He's pushed Okonski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Liddrop gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Liddrop has Okonski pressed against the cage, preventing Okonski from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Liddrop misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Okonski.
Liddrop tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Okonski lands a good knee to the midsection. Liddrop won't want to take too many of those.

Liddrop escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Okonski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Okonski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Liddrop is fending him off so far but Okonski persists. Nope, Liddrop circles away and we're back to standing.
Mick Liddrop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miroslaw Okonski.
Okonski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Liddrop could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Okonski shoots in and drives through. Liddrop sprawls well.

Okonski closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Okonski throwing strikes but Liddrop manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Liddrop stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Okonski fails in his attempt to clinch.

Okonski shoots in and bounces Liddrop off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Liddrop wants to sweep but no luck.
Okonski lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Okonski decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Liddrop, up you get!

Okonski takes the fight into the clinch.

Okonski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miroslaw Okonski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Liddrop's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Okonski looks for a takedown but Liddrop sprawls well.
Liddrop throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

and Okonski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Liddrop wants to control but Okonski is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Liddrop wants to control the action here but instead Okonski manages to pass to full mount!

Okonski with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Liddrop is working to get back to half guard.
Liddrop wants to control but Okonski is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Okonski prevents Liddrop from getting the reversal.
Liddrop has given up his back here. Will Okonski look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Okonski thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Liddrop won't enjoy being in this position. Okonski looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Liddrop is tapping - it's over boys! Okonski picks up the submission victory!
