Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bogan Riley! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rob Dylan! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riley swings for the body but Dylan moves out of range.

Riley keeps the fight on the outside. Riley dodges the punch combination from Dylan.
Dylan misses the jab. Dylan is looking to clinch. Dylan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Dylan throws a big shot that misses. Riley loads up on a big right hand but Dylan slips the punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dylan lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Dylan avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Dylan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Riley swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dylan pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Dylan lands with some strikes. Dylan looking to finish Riley with some ground and pound. This is bad for Riley! Dylan throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Dylan stalling away here and it's allowed Riley to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Dylan throwing strikes from guard but Riley blocks nicely. Dylan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Riley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dylan's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dylan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dylan works his way back into a safe position though. Riley being controlled here, momentarily. Dylan scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Riley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Riley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dylan defends it easily. Dylan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dylan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riley keeps working. Riley looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Riley is looking for a sweep. Dylan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Riley makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Riley. Dylan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Riley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Rob Dylan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Riley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Riley throws a right hand that Dylan ducks under and follows up with a left that Dylan also avoids with ease. Nice uppercut lands for Riley. That snapped Dylan's head back.

Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Dylan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dylan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Riley prevents a body shot from Dylan. A hook to the body from Dylan.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Dylan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Dylan digs a right hand underneath Riley's ribcage. Riley let out a lung full of air as it connected. Dylan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Dylan pushes Riley back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Dylan lands a shoulder strike. Nice body punch from Dylan - that landed with a thud.

Dylan seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Riley has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Riley thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dylan's head. Rob Dylan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
