Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Bradly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, BJ Penn!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn missing with a left hand there. Bradly was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bradly moves out of range of the strikes.
The fighters circling - Penn throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Penn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Penn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bradly could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bradly drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Penn is trying to control the position but Bradly postures up.
Bradly wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.
Penn is looking to stand up but Bradly isn't so interested in that idea.
Bradly wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.
Penn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bradly won't allow Penn to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bradly passes into half guard.
Penn is refusing to be controlled, as Bradly sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Penn misses with a jab, cross combination.

Bradly looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Bradly trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bradly pushes down on Penn's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Bradly stands up from half guard.
Penn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bradly bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penn lands with a nice body punch.
Bradly is breathing heavily.

Penn cracks Bradly with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Penn has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bradly to stand back up!


Bradly is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Penn closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Bradly out cold! Bradly corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). BJ Penn!
