The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santee gets caught flat footed, as Zilva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Zilva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Zilva wants to control from the top but Santee keeps moving.
Zilva wants to pass the guard but Santee is keeping the position.
Zilva is working hard here to advance position.
Zilva looking to sit in guard and control but Santee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Santee is staying active underneath Zilva, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Santee throws a right hand that Zilva ducks under and follows up with a left that Zilva also avoids with ease.

Santee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zilva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The strikes coming from Zilva are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Santee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Zilva takes a little break here. Santee wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Zilva throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Santee was covering up waiting for the punch and Zilva finishes the takedown easily into guard.
