The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasemagi blocks a head kick by Alverez.
Alverez throws a series of punches but Vasemagi moves out of range.
Alverez doesn't manage to clinch there - Vasemagi circles away.
Alverez misses with a series of wild punches.
Vasemagi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alverez but Alverez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vasemagi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alverez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vasemagi somewhat.
