PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Milan Hosak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Deicide-Once Upon the Cross . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Milan Hosak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Chase Evans!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans rushes Hosak and presses him up against the ropes.
Evans is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Evans jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hosak walks away with a smile on his face. Evans gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hosak misses with a looping right.
Hosak swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hosak throws a hook to the side of Evans's head but Evans sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Evans clinches up with Hosak and pushes him back against the ropes.
Evans is working for takedown but Hosak is calmly controlling the position for now.
Milan Hosak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chase Evans.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Hosak.
Hosak pushes Evans back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch.
Hosak tries to score a body lock takedown but Evans shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hosak scores with a shot to the side of Evans's head.
Hosak swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hosak wants to stall.

Evans wants the takedown. Hosak is fighting it off but Evans persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hosak's guard against the ropes.

Hosak scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Hosak pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Hosak misses with a looping left.

Evans takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hosak fails with a takedown attempt.
The fighters circling - Hosak throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hosak misses with a straight right.
Hosak looks to throw the jab but Evans is out of range.

Evans uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hosak.
Hosak works the jab nicely.
Hosak throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A telegraphed right hand from Hosak misses the target.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hosak.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Evans regains half guard.
Hosak seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hosak thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Evans's head.
Evans wants to improve his position but Hosak is controlling well.
Hosak takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Evans is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Evans moves into full guard.
Evans looking for a sweep. Not yet Evans, not yet.

Evans looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hosak passes Evans's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hosak prevents Evans from improving his position.
Hosak working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Evans is looking for a sweep. Hosak is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Evans is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hosak's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hosak's back!

Evans has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hosak has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Evans looks gassed!

Hosak is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Evans doesn't have the hooks in and Hosak manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Evans escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hosak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hosak throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hosak fails to land with a series of punches.

and Hosak counters with a nice body shot.

Hosak closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hosak lands in his opponent's guard.

Evans has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hosak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hosak connects with a nice short shot to Evans's temple.

The crowd cheers as Hosak lands an impressive looking overhand right. Evans doesn't seem phased though.

Hosak is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Evans has taken his back.

Evans is persistently looking for the submission but Hosak is defending it well.
Hosak turns into Evans and is now in his guard.
Milan Hosak is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Evans is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hosak is aware though and is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
