Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Dugre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin has chosen Survivor-Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Dugre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Griffin.
Griffin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Griffin tries for a takedown but Dugre sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Chris Dugre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Griffin.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dugre as he jumps to the side.
Griffin tries to clinch but Dugre moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Griffin has Dugre pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dugre manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Griffin goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dugre prevents it.

Dugre's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Griffin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dugre knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dugre tries to kick Griffin off but Griffin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Griffin is pressing down on Dugre's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dugre is holding on for now.

Griffin throws a strike but Dugre avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dugre tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Griffin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Dugre holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dugre lands an elbow inside.
Dugre swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Griffin is pressed up against the cage. Dugre has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Griffin down to the mat. Griffin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Griffin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Griffin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Dugre holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dugre tries a knee to the head but Griffin blocks it.
Griffin tries for a takedown but Dugre manages to get underhooks.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dugre tries to stall but Griffin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dugre. Griffin does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Dugre wants to clinch up but Griffin keeps it at a distance.

so Dugre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Griffin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Dugre controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Griffin kicks Dugre off and gets to his feet.
Dugre tries to clinch up but Griffin circles away and keeps his distance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Griffin wants to clinch but Dugre slips to the side

and Dugre counters by moving into the clinch.
Griffin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dugre pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Dugre is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Griffin is defending well for now.

Griffin has hold of one of Dugre's legs. Dugre is fighting the takedown attempt but Griffin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Griffin is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dugre is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dugre has escaped and now he's on top!
Dugre wants to get up but he can't break Griffin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dugre is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Griffin is defending well for now.
Griffin is working for takedown but Dugre is calmly controlling the position for now.
Griffin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dugre avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Dugre looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Chris Dugre is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Griffin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Griffin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dugre fights it off and pushes away nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Dugre.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dugre, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
