Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Bessenger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johns's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, This could be the night. Bessenger has chosen Hostile Mass as his entrance music. Mike Bessenger has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with James Johns's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Johns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Bessenger! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johns moves into the clinch. Bessenger tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Johns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johns closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johns lands in his opponent's guard. Johns throws a big right hand that misses. Johns forces his way into half guard. Johns wants to get back to his feet.
Bessenger is trying to get back to full guard. Johns decides to stand up. Bessenger tries for a takedown but Johns circles away easily and Johns counters with a takedown into side control. Johns wants to control but Bessenger is keeping him busy. Bessenger is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Johns's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johns tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bessenger.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johns trying to mount his opponent but Bessenger defends it. Bessenger missing with punches from the bottom.
Bessenger looks gassed! Bessenger throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nice strikes from Johns there. Johns stands up from half guard. Bessenger fails with the takedown and Johns makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. James Johns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Bessenger. Johns lands a really nice looking cross but Bessenger seems unphased.
Johns connects with a jab. Johns feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Bessenger wants to sweep here but Johns controlling him for the moment. Johns wanted to stand there but Bessenger had control of the position. Johns has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bessenger to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Johns is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bessenger pulls down on the head and he's put Johns to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mike Bessenger!
