The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Milicz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by mode.
mode blocks the body kick.
mode takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Milicz misses with an uppercut. mode saw that one coming.
Milicz lets loose with a powerful body kick. mode will feel that in the morning.
mode avoids a punch combination nicely.
mode is looking to slow Milicz down with leg kicks.
Milicz lands a jab-cross combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
mode clinches up with Milicz and pushes him back against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. mode lands a nice short elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Milicz is breathing heavily.
mode seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Milicz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Milicz won't allow mode to pass to mount.
mode is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
mode clinches up with Milicz and pushes him back against the cage.
mode's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
mode wants the takedown. Milicz is fighting it off but mode persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Milicz's guard against the cage.

Milicz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. mode is aware though and is defending well.
mode slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
mode wants to control from the top but Milicz keeps moving.
Milicz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. mode is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Milicz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take mode's back instead.
Milicz working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Milicz is looking for a rear naked choke here but mode reverses the position brilliantly into Milicz's guard!

mode stands up and waves to Milicz to follow him.
mode drives through and clinches with Milicz against the cage.

Milicz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and mode dives on top into guard.
Milicz looking for a guillotine here but mode defends easily.
Milicz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. mode gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

mode cracks Milicz with a solid left hand.
Milicz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
mode tries to lock up and control but Milicz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Milicz goes for an armbar but he's not got it… mode turns into him and now he's in Milicz's guard.
mode scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
mode trying to control but Milicz is working from the bottom.
Milicz has his feet on mode's thighs here. He's pushed mode off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! mode screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
