Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steven Saint Pierre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pulla Sorsa! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sorsa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Saint Pierre fails to land the takedown. Sorsa moves in looking to clinch but Saint Pierre pushes him off. Saint Pierre shoots in looking for a takedown. Sorsa tries to sprawl out of it but Saint Pierre keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sorsa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sorsa tries to clinch but Saint Pierre is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Saint Pierre gets a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saint Pierre is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Saint Pierre is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Saint Pierre will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Saint Pierre is working for a kimura but Sorsa is defending it quite comfortably.

Saint Pierre is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sorsa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Saint Pierre.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sorsa holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Saint Pierre seems to be working for a kimura but Sorsa defends the submission attempt.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Saint Pierre shoots for a double leg takedown but Sorsa sprawls well. He's pushed Saint Pierre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Saint Pierre. That's going to take a lot out of him. Saint Pierre swats away the attempt to clinch by Sorsa.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saint Pierre has a takedown stuffed. Sorsa fails in his attempt to clinch. Saint Pierre shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sorsa's guard. Saint Pierre throws a big right hand that misses. Saint Pierre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sorsa swivels though and keeps the full guard. Saint Pierre is working Sorsa over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Saint Pierre's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Saint Pierre in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Saint Pierre throws a strike but Sorsa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Sorsa passes into half guard. Saint Pierre looking for submissions off his back. Saint Pierre is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sorsa pulls his head out easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Saint Pierre tries to roll over but Sorsa keeps him under control. Sorsa wants to control but Saint Pierre is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Saint Pierre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Saint Pierre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Saint Pierre missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Saint Pierre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Saint Pierre throws a strike but Sorsa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Saint Pierre throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sorsa escapes and throws Saint Pierre's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Saint Pierre is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Sorsa blocks the strikes from Saint Pierre.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saint Pierre tries to buck Sorsa off but Sorsa is having none of it. You can see the frustration on Saint Pierre's face as Sorsa controls the position. Sorsa decides to stand back up. Sorsa steps back and let's Saint Pierre get back to his feet. Sorsa fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sorsa tries to clinch there but Saint Pierre circles away.
Sorsa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Saint Pierre is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sorsa pulls his head out easily. Still in half guard, Sorsa seems content to control. Saint Pierre wants to improve his position but Sorsa is controlling well.

Saint Pierre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sorsa moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Saint Pierre.
Saint Pierre is looking for a sweep.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sorsa tries to clinch up. Saint Pierre keeps the fight on the outside. Sorsa wants to clinch up but Saint Pierre keeps it at a distance. Saint Pierre has his takedown stuffed and Sorsa counters with a head kick.

Pulla Sorsa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Sorsa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Saint Pierre is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Saint Pierre is working hard here to advance position. Saint Pierre is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sorsa's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Saint Pierre wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sorsa is figuring out what he wants to do next. Sorsa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Saint Pierre keeps working. Saint Pierre looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Saint Pierre is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sorsa is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Saint Pierre! Sorsa prevents Saint Pierre from getting the reversal. Pulla Sorsa has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sorsa controlling his opponent. Saint Pierre can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sorsa controlling from mount. Saint Pierre is looking to improve his position but Sorsa isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saint Pierre throwing hammer fists to the chest of Sorsa. What's that going to do exactly? Saint Pierre keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Saint Pierre postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sorsa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Saint Pierre, into his guard. Saint Pierre is looking for a triangle but Sorsa pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sorsa has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Saint Pierre to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Sorsa is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Saint Pierre pulls down on the head and he's put Sorsa to sleep! This one is all over!
