Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buford Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Dash!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin dives in and grabs Dash's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dash pushes down on Griffin's head and hops out.
Griffin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dash circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Griffin is defended easily by Dash.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buford Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffin fails with the takedown.
Dash dips to his left and cracks Griffin with an uppercut!


It looks like Buford Griffin has been cut.
Dash stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dash wants it to stay on the feet.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dash but Dash pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Dash closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dash lands in his opponent's guard.
Dash passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Dash thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dash working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dash is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Griffin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dash wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Griffin is breathing heavily.

Dash has hold of Griffin's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Griffin tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Dash cranks the arm and Griffin screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Griffin, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jim Dash!
