Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Panze Badu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ramazan Mezhidov! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Mezhidov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice shot by Mezhidov. Badu looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Baduis looking to pass into half guard but Mezhidov pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Mezhidov is in guard. Badu looking for a guillotine here but Mezhidov defends easily.
Badu keeping moving, preventing Mezhidov from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Badu throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mezhidov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mezhidov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Badu throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Badu is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mezhidov defends well. Mezhidov's corner is telling him to maintain position. Mezhidov wants to control from the top but Badu keeps moving. Badu has his foot on Mezhidov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mezhidov works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mezhidov postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Mezhidov trying to control but Badu is working from the bottom. Badu looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Badu is breathing heavily. Badu can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mezhidov controls the pace. Mezhidov scoring with punches to the head and body. Mezhidov stands up from guard. Let's bang! Some wild striking there from Mezhidov.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Badu shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. No joy there for Mezhidov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mezhidov throws a right and a left that both miss. Badu avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mezhidov misses the shot to the body. Badu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Badu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mezhidov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Badu. Mezhidov is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Badu is looking to take a break and control but Mezhidov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Badu is trying to work for a kimura but Mezhidov is defending well.
Mezhidov regains full guard. Nicely done. Mezhidov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Mezhidov trying to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ramazan Mezhidov will probably get the nod. That's time! Badu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Mezhidov lands a jab. Mezhidov takes a swing at Badu's ribcage but misses. Mezhidov with a body punch. A glancing blow. Badu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Mezhidov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Badu won't let Mezhidov get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Mezhidov is trying desperately to improve position. Badu working for a guillotine from mount but Mezhidov is in no mood to give up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mezhidov wants to hold on but Badu pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Badu goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mezhidov turns into him and now he's in Badu's guard.
Badu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mezhidov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Mezhidov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Badu is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mezhidov is aware though and is defending well. Mezhidov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mezhidov trying to control the position from guard on top but Badu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Badu is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Badu had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mezhidov is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Badu Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mezhidov's back instead. Badu tightening his grip on Mezhidov, looking for the choke. Mezhidov is trying to stand back up.

He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Badu off. It looks like it's working - Badu slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Mezhidov displaying calm under pressure there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mezhidov cracks Badu with a right hand to the side of the head. Mezhidov moves in looking to clinch but Badu pushes him off. Mezhidov throws a series of punches but Badu avoids them all with ease. Mezhidov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Badu circles away quickly and effectively. Badu drives through with a takedown into guard. Mezhidov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Badu prevents Mezhidov from getting back to his feet. Badu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mezhidov's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ramazan Mezhidov will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Badu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A cross from Mezhidov lands. Mezhidov throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mezhidov catches Badu with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Mezhidov is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Mezhidov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Badu has time to react. Mezhidov cracks a nice hook into Badu's ribs. Badu takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Mezhidov throws a head kick but Badu moves out of range.
Mezhidov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Badu looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mezhidov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Badu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Badu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Badu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Badu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Badu has gone for a leg lock! Mezhidov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Badu's guard. Mezhidov looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Mezhidov trying to control the position from guard on top but Badu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Badu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are battling for position here. Mezhidov manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Mezhidov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Badu is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Badu is fighting to break Mezhidov's control of his arms but Mezhidov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Badu thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Badu thows a big elbow that misses. Mezhidov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mezhidov wants to stand up but Badu is controlling him.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Badu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Badu is trying to control. Mezhidov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Mezhidov pushes Badu off looking to stand but Badu dives back in and keeps control.
Mezhidov is not content to let Badu control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mezhidov is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Badu trying to control the action but Mezhidov is working from the bottom. Badu is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mezhidov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Badu stops Mezhidov from getting back to his feet.
Panze Badu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ramazan Mezhidov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mezhidov gets the takedown into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Ramazan Mezhidov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Mezhidov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
