Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gator Raid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raid has chosen Rio de Janeiro as his entrance music. Gator Raid told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Gator Raid! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Raid gets the takedown into side control. Taylor tries to get back to half guard but can't. Raid should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Taylor is working hard here to advance position. Taylor takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Raid working the head with strikes. Taylor wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Raid working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The strikes coming from Raid are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Taylor sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Raid winds up and cracks Taylor with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Raid pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. A nice elbow there by Raid. Raid punishing his opponent with strikes. Raid cracks Taylor with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Taylor bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Taylor stopping the sweep attempt from Raid. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Raid is on top in guard.

Raid is trying to get back to full guard. Taylor is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Raid sees it coming and defends easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Raid throws a leg kick that misses. Raid takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Taylor doesn't succeed with the takedown and Raid counters with a shoot takedown.
