Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Delgado! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Delgado.
Delgado lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Mir closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mir is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Delgado will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Delgado is looking to reverse the position. Delgado is being controlled here. Delgado wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Delgado thuds his right hand into Mir's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Mir takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Mir fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Delgado sprawls well initially but Mir persists and gets the takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Delgado throws out a loose jab but Mir uses good head movement to avoid it. Delgado catches Mir with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Delgado scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Delgado looks to clinch and Mir decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Delgado's guard. Delgado tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Delgado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mir prevents Delgado from getting back to his feet. Mir drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mir jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mir is breathing heavily. Mir trying to control but Delgado is working from the bottom. Delgado wants to stand up but Mir is controlling him. Mir wants to control from the top but Delgado keeps moving. Delgado wants to get back to his feet but Mir is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Delgado lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A left and a right from Delgado both land. Nice combination. Delgado throws a series of strikes that have Mir backpedaling.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Delgado buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Delgado looks to clinch and Mir counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Delgado! Delgado wants to try and get back to his feet. Mir can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Delgado is looking to escape. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Delgado really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Delgado is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mir is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Delgado throws a hook but Mir blocks it. A combination from Delgado does no damage. Mir misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Delgado leaves Mir with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Mir on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Delgado. Delgado obviously looking to wear him down.
Delgado looks to clinch and Mir counters with a nice double leg into guard. Mir stopping the sweep attempt from Delgado. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
