Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dougie Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Foster comes to the cage accompanied by Despicable. Dougie Ferguson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foster slaps away a takedown attempt from Ferguson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Horrible takedown by Ferguson or perhaps it was just good defense by Foster which made him look bad. Foster shoots in looking for a takedown. Ferguson tries to sprawl out of it but Foster keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ferguson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ferguson fails with the takedown and Foster decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ferguson's guard. Brian Foster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Ferguson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Foster defends well. Foster sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ferguson's guard. Foster is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ferguson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Foster counters by moving into the clinch. Foster just leaning against Ferguson, taking a breather. Foster gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ferguson.
Ferguson goes for a takedown attempt but Foster pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ferguson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Foster finds it's way round the side to connect with Ferguson's head. Foster tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ferguson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Foster wants to clinch. Foster shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ferguson as he avoids it easily. No luck for Ferguson with that takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ferguson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ferguson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Foster trying to control the position but Ferguson is working away. Ferguson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Foster off and has taken his back! Foster breaks Ferguson's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Foster got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ferguson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Foster has managed to get both his arms back between Ferguson's legs - danger averted. Foster postures up in Ferguson's guard and throws a big left but Ferguson blocks it. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ferguson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ferguson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
