Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshihro Akiyama!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero tries a head kick but it misses.
Romero throws a hook but Akiyama blocks it.
Akiyama blocks a head kick by Romero.
Romero stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Romero wants it to stay on the feet.
Jonny Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Akiyama steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Romero.
Romero misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Akiyama shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Romero stuffs the takedown attempt from Akiyama. Akiyama gets slowly back to his feet.
Romero throws a series of punches but Akiyama moves out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Akiyama throwing strikes but missing.

Akiyama drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Akiyama jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Romero on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Romero tries to get out of the position.
Akiyama thows a big elbow that misses.
Romero knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Akiyama on the ground.
Akiyama trying to control the position from guard on top but Romero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Akiyama drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Akiyama seems to have locked his on tight now - Romero screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Akiyama, as he picks up the win!
