Washington comes to the cage accompanied by "Hawaii Five-O" by The Ventures. The crowd seem to be enjoying Vovchanchyn's choice of entrance music: the game. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Washington lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Vovchanchyn has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Vovchanchyn and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Vovchanchyn cracks Washington with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Washington tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Vovchanchyn pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Washington is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wanderlei Vovchanchyn! Wanderlei Vovchanchyn retains his light heavyweight title!
