Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Manny Pacquiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phi Cho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Manny Pacquiao has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Manny Pacquiao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phi Cho!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cho changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pacquiao looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pacquiao sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Pacquiao is looking for a sweep. Cho is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pacquiao on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pacquiao tries to get out of the position.
Cho perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cho wants to free his trapped foot but Pacquiao is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Cho content to control rather than advance.
Cho misses with a head shot. Pacquiao uses the momentum to regain guard.
Cho is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Cho is fighting to break Pacquiao's control of his arms but Pacquiao is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Cho stays in close to Pacquiao's body and controls the position.

Cho with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cho loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Pacquiao keeping moving, preventing Cho from controlling successfully.

Cho slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pacquiao tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cho was well out of range. Poor timing from Pacquiao.
Cho fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Manny Pacquiao has been cut.

Cho fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pacquiao sprawls well initially but Cho persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Cho should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Pacquiao looks like he's trying to stand up.
Cho is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Cho tries to pass to full mount but Pacquiao defends it.
Cho is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Pacquiao is looking to control Cho's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pacquiao avoid being mounted?
Cho is looking to advance position but Pacquiao won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cho closes the distance and clinches.

Pacquiao breaks from the clinch.
Cho misses with a looping left.
A punch lands to the side of Pacquiao 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pacquiao avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Cho decides to stand back up. Cho steps back and let's Pacquiao get back to his feet.

Cho checks a low kick from Pacquiao.
Pacquiao keeps the fight on the outside.

Cho takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Cho fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pacquiao misses with a kick to the body.
Cho tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pacquiao paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Phi Cho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cho closes the distance and pushes Pacquiao back into the cage.
Pacquiao blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A bit of stalling here from Cho.
Cho stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cho keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Pacquiao's efforts to push away.
Cho is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Pacquiao breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pacquiao circles away from the clinch attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cho wants to clinch.
Pacquiao lands a head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cho tries to clinch but Pacquiao moves out of range.
Cho lands a really nice looking cross but Pacquiao seems unphased.
Pacquiao throws a solid leg kick but Cho takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Pacquiao.

Pacquiao throws a head kick but Cho moves out of range.
Cho uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pacquiao.
Cho fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pacquiao jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cho takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pacquiao misses with a head kick.
Pacquiao throws a head kick but Cho moves out of range.
Pacquiao avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cho wants to clinch up but Pacquiao keeps it at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phi Cho showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Cho changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pacquiao tries to avoid it but Cho manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pacquiao to the ground. Pacquiao escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pacquiao misses with a knee to the head.
Cho presses Pacquiao against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Cho softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Cho breaks the clinch.
Cho moves in looking to clinch but Pacquiao pushes him off.
Cho tries to clinch up but Pacquiao circles away and keeps his distance.
Pacquiao scores with a jab to the body.
Pacquiao keeps the fight on the outside.
Pacquiao throws a half hearted mid kick.
Pacquiao lands with a nice body punch.
Pacquiao connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Cho momentarily.
A clash of legs there as Cho blocks the low kick.
Pacquiao scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cho doesn't seem bothered though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pacquiao throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Cho checks a leg kick.
Cho takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Pacquiao scores with a nice strike.

Cho gets a clinch.

Pacquiao breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cho tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pacquiao paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pacquiao ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Horrible takedown by Cho or perhaps it was just good defense by Pacquiao which made him look bad.
Manny Pacquiao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phi Cho.

Cho is rocked!
Pacquiao lands a body shot.
Cho moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Cho is still on wobbly legs! Can Pacquiao finish him?
Nice shot by Pacquiao.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pacquiao cracks Cho on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Cho falls backwards against the cage. Pacquiao follows up with more strikes that drop Cho to his knees. Pacquiao keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Cho! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Manny Pacquiao!
