Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tony Richardson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ben Alkofer! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richardson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Alkofer trying to control here.
Alkofer is controlling Richardson's trapped leg to prevent Richardson from advancing to side control. Alkofer tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Richardson manages to move to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alkofer tries to reverse the position but Richardson maintains control. Richardson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alkofer is looking to escape. Richardson prevents Alkofer from getting the reversal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Richardson get's back to his feet. Richardson shoots in but no luck this time. Alkofer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Richardson counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Richardson being controlled here momentarily. Alkofer wants to sweep here but Richardson controlling him for the moment. Alkofer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Richardson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alkofer on the ground. Alkofer trying to keep a closed guard but Richardson is proving a slippery customer.
Alkofer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Richardson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Richardson stands and steps away. Alkofer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Alkofer slaps away a takedown attempt from Richardson, before circling back to the center of the mat. A nice leg kick lands there from Alkofer. Richardson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Alkofer counters with a good, hard body kick but Richardson shrugs it off. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Richardson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Richardson is breathing heavily. Richardson keeps the fight on the outside. Alkofer looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Richardson fails with the takedown and Alkofer counters with a solid body kick. Alkofer throws a head kick that half lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alkofer doesn't succeed with the takedown and Richardson makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Alkofer moves into range and clinches up with Richardson. Alkofer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Alkofer jumps guard and drags Richardson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Richardson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Alkofer wants to stand and escape but Richardson is having none of it. Richardson wants to get up but he can't break Alkofer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Richardson trying to control but Alkofer is working from the bottom. Alkofer looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Alkofer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Richardson's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Richardson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Richardson has an active guard here but Alkofer has managed to pass into half guard.
Richardson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Richardson tries to kick Alkofer off but Alkofer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tony Richardson will probably get the nod. That's time! Richardson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Alkofer pushes Richardson up against the cage in a clinch. Richardson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Alkofer just stands there and leans against the cage. Alkofer is working for takedown but Richardson is calmly controlling the position for now. Richardson blocks a body shot from Alkofer. Alkofer looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Alkofer. Alkofer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Tony Richardson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Alkofer. A right hook to the body lands for Richardson.
Alkofer misses with a punch on the inside.
Richardson digs a right hand into Alkofer's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Alkofer's gas tank. Alkofer tries to pull guard but Richardson holds him up against the cage and eventually Alkofer drops back down to his feet.
Alkofer has had enough of the clinch but Richardson keeps him there for the moment. Alkofer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Richardson just stands there and leans against the cage. Richardson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Alkofer up against the cage. Richardson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Richardson seems to be working for a kimura but Alkofer defends the submission attempt. Richardson prevents Alkofer from improving his position. Richardson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Richardson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Alkofer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Richardson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Alkofer has one foot on Richardson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Richardson dodges the punch combination from Alkofer.
Richardson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Richardson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Alkofer down.
Alkofer tries to bench press Richardson off him but Richardson keeps the position. Alkofer prevents Richardson from moving into mount. Alkofer is looking for a sweep. Richardson controls the position from side control. Richardson wants to stand but Alkofer is controlling his arm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Richardson is looking to take a break and control but Alkofer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Alkofer misses with a strike from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Richardson misses with a takedown attempt and Alkofer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Richardson's guard now. Richardson is looking for a triangle here but Alkofer uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Richardson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Alkofer is staying tight to Richardson's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Richardson wants to control but Alkofer postures up. The strikes coming from Alkofer are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Alkofer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Richardson has escaped the position, nice work there. Alkofer creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ben Alkofer will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Richardson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alkofer gets control of Richardson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Alkofer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Alkofer is trying to keep Richardson in close.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Richardson looking to pass the guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alkofer seems keen to control Richardson's posture. Richardson throwing strikes but missing. Alkofer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Richardson tries to lock up and control but Alkofer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Alkofer controlling from the full mount. Alkofer with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Alkofer prevents Richardson from getting the reversal.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Richardson tries to hold on but Alkofer postures up. Richardson is trying to reverse the position but instead Alkofer has taken his back - oops! Alkofer controlling from the back. Alkofer patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Alkofer trying to control momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Alkofer is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Richardson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Alkofer is trying to stick to Richardson's back but Richardson is turning into Alkofer. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Alkofer's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Richardson. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Richardson tries to free his leg and advance position but Alkofer is retaining full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Ben Alkofer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Alkofer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
